Myler Twisted Single Joint Sweet Iron Dee with Hooks (Discontinued) - 5"
The MB 09T twist has no pronounced sharp edges, and the twist is a mirror on each side of the center barrel to provide a balanced feel for horse and rider. It is a more comfortable Myler version of the traditional single-jointed mouthpiece. Although it lacks the benefits of a “true” Myler mouthpiece, it has a distinctive curve so the bars of the bit wrap around the horse’s bar and lips which make the bit more comfortable. NO Independent Side Movement. Sweet Iron curved mouthpiece
The dee with hooks is a stainless steel "D" shaped ring with fixed attachment of the mouthpiece, as well as slots (“hooks”) at the top and bottom of the ring for bridle and rein attachment. The small loop behind the top slot accommodates a curb strap (attach with two curb hooks). Both the top bridle slot and bottom rein slot on the standard and medium dee will fit standard ⅝" bridle leather.
The hooks make this a much more versatile version of the dee without hooks. Attaching the headstall to the top hook holds the bit in the correct position instead of allowing it to slide around the bridle cheek pieces. Using the hooks does not add leverage but allows the rider to transition from a direct rein action to indirect action without changing the bit. Direct rein action when reins are not attached through rein hook. Indirect rein action when rein is fixed on rein hook. *This is an original Myler design that is no longer in production.
