Shorter Tom Thumb shanks minimize the leverage effect thereby creating a mild poll pressure and curb pressure. The mouthpiece "floats" on the cheek pieces providing a slight gag bit action when the rein pressure is applied. *This bit is a collector item that is not longer in production.
